welcome to hungry tigress, home of tigress in a jam & tigress in a pickle!
no cat is an island and this new site would not exist without the help of some very talented people. first and foremost i want to thank jeff wright of capsule design who created this site along with me. jeff and i have collaborated on numerous projects in the last 10 or so years and it was an absolute joy to do something [almost] completely different together on this very personal project of mine. a big tigress-sized thank you jeff! i also want to thank the one and only awesome illustrator mike d’angelo for creating the lovely tigress illustrations of yours truly. finally, my good friend derrick little of faces by derrick helped me to get camera ready for my about photo. thanks derrick!
in addition to the brand new look, you’ll find some new features here too. i am very excited about the index page and my hope is that it will allow you to find what you’re looking for in an instant, whether by preserving method, main ingredient, type of preserve, or ways to use the preserves you’ve already made. there’s a section on non-preserve cooking and eating – which i’ll be contributing to more often in future posts. and you’ll also find a list of categories entitled ‘other stuff’ that should help you navigate easily through non-recipe posts. the links page lists my current must reads, resources and recommended suppliers. i’ll be sure to keep this page updated with my favorites.
in the almost 3 years that i’ve been blogging, i must admit there’s been times when i throw my paws in the air and wonder, “why am i doing this?” but i’m still here, and the new i blog because page is a personal [and public] exploration into why i do it. in addition to honing my own clarity, my hope is some lively discussion will ensue on issues many of us care deeply about. in addition to a link to my actual amazon store, my amazon larder page explains just what i’ll be doing with the $$ i receive from your purchases. i’ll also feature current faves pulled off my larder shelf in the sidebar in an effort to share with you what’s inspiring me in my kitchen, and entice you to contribute to a worthy cause. stay tuned for monthly posts roaring about those very items.
the sidebar also features a series of questions to point you in the right direction, and help you explore more of the site. those trusty social networking buttons are there too. in addition to facebook and twitter, i’ve also included my pinterest and instagram links too – ’cause tigresses are social! you can still choose to subscribe to the RSS feed of either tigress in a jam or tigress in a pickle, in case you’re solely a sweet or a savory. for your convenience you can now subscribe to both blogs in one feed. today, in fact, is the first time ever that i have posted the same post in both places, and that is only to ensure that all current readers are aware of my new site address and info. i have no plans to do it again in the future, so i encourage you to subscribe to both to get in on all the fun. and now, one click does the trick!
also for your convenience you’ll find share and pin it buttons at the bottom of each post, a ‘print this recipe’ button by the recipe titles and an improved search box at the top of the sidebar. underneath the comments of any given post you’ll find links to the five posts that came before that one. a note about comment options; there are two ways to comment on the post pages, via wordpress or facebook. you’ll find the facebook comment box located directly at the bottom of the post above the wordpress comments. it’s your choice, either way, i’ll do my best to read them all and roar back at you!
finally, a word about my intentions for this new site. of course they’ll be lotz of the usual happenings; regularly scheduled recipes, garden meanderings, seasonal exclamations, notes and photos from my travels, etc. blogging is a platform to voice things that i am passionate about to be sure, and there will be even more of that here. it’s also a platform for sheer creative expression. basically, i’m planning to have more fun and get more serious!
welcome again, i look forward to seeing you around here!

Looks like all good news to me.I’m sure we are all going to reap the benefits of your newest efforts.
